You might need a lawyer, a doctor or a police officer a few times in your life, but you need a farmer at least three times every day. Farming is the most healthful, useful and noble employment. This wine is our tribute to all the farmers out there who keep us fed and watered whatever Mother Nature throws at them.

This Cabernet Franc/Merlot blend is Deep ruby-red in color with earthy aromas of fresh wild blackberries, and cedar pouring from the glass. On the palate, this blend presents a full-bodied texture, framed by structured yet rich approachable tannins. Flavours of black cherries, ripe red plum, and chocolate raspberry cake are balanced by refreshing acidity, leading to nuances of dried herbs and sage. The long-lingering finish carries those rich fruit and earthy notes into an ever-so-satisfying climax

The artwork for this vintage celebrates our founder Cynthia’s Grandfather, Nivan Buchignani. 

Nivan was a pioneer grape farmer in the legendary Sonoma County of California. His forefathers  left Tuscany in the late 1800s carrying cuttings of their precious Zinfandel grapevines. The vines that grew from these are now over 100 years old and produce some of Sonoma valleys finest Old Vine Zinfandel. NIvan was a true farmer,  renowned for his huge lush vegetable gardens, orchards full of cherries, peaches and plums as well as his viticultural prowess. His hunting and fishing skills were also legendary. His favourite wine was a barrel fermented Sauvignon Blanc made by his favourite neighbouring Winery.
